Media Statement

As part of our continued commitment to education across Papua New Guinea, Theodist Limited recently donated 25 desks and 25 chairs to St. Mary’s Inaui Primary School in Central Province.

St. Mary’s serves students from nearby villages where access to essential classroom resources is often limited. This donation helps ease the pressure on teachers and creates a more comfortable learning environment for students.

The handover ceremony took place alongside the launch of other important community projects and was attended by Honourable Members of Parliament, Government Ministers, and Department Secretaries, along with parents, teachers, and students from the school community.

From Left to Right: Minister for Education (Lucas Dekena), Member Kairuku Hiri Open (Peter Isoaimo), National Sales & Marketing Manager for Theodist (Kevin Anderson) , CEO of Theodist (Kumar Baliah), Secretary of Education (Dr. Uke Kombra) and other members of the delegation that attended the donation at St. Mary’s Inaui Primary School recently.

“Today is more than just a delivery of desks. It is a reaffirmation of the values we at Theodist hold dear: community, education, responsibility, and opportunity. These desks are tools of hope. When students have a desk of their own, it tells them: You matter. Your future matters.”

Mr. Baliah also acknowledged the importance of collaboration in supporting education in PNG: “We understand that government alone cannot meet every need. It is up to all of us, the private sector, the public sector and the people to work together. That is why Theodist is proud to partner in this small but meaningful way.”

Alongside the donation, the school also purchased stationery and learning supplies from Theodist. With support from our school loyalty program, the school was able to maximise its budget and invest in essential classroom tools.

School Principal Lucy Isoaimo shared her appreciation during the ceremony: “We are very grateful to Theodist not only for the desks and chairs, but also for their ongoing support to our school and the education sector. The special pricing for school orders has helped us save so much. Their customer service keeps us coming back. We look forward to many more years of collaboration.”

This initiative is part of Theodist’s Education Support Program, which reflects our long- standing role in supporting schools and students throughout the country. For over 50 years, we have remained committed to helping improve learning environments in every province we serve.

We believe every student deserves access to a quality learning experience. By providing resources like desks and stationery, we hope to support schools like St. Mary’s as they continue to educate the next generation of Papua New Guineans.

Theodist is proud to walk alongside communities in supporting education, building opportunity and helping create a better future for all.
